As this is also the case with the TS pro newton, I conclude that this is common to all GSO manufactured Newtonian reflectors. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Easily fixed with a m6 nut and washer on the black adjustment knobs. But still...
OK. So onto the stuff needed to make it acceptable for astro-photography. The springs, the secondary mirror adjustment screws, a proper long, wide dovetail plate, a box section along the top of the rings, etc, etc...
The optics are lovely. Well worth the extra investment both financially and in tinkering time to bring it up to speed.
Tested with the separate guide telescope. I think I'd be happier with the OAG though.
