Continuing now the other side of full moon, the search light appeared yesterday at around 20:20, more than enough time to bag the first cluster in relative darkness. Linked to early evening viewing -started at about 19:30- is the associated turbulence, so not as sharp as I would have liked, even for the 6" reflector.
Discovered by William Herschel on 9th December 1831 and at a distance of 5920 light years.
